| Acadiana High School first opened its' doors in 1969. It was the result of the combination of two now defunct high schools, Judice High and Scott High. From the very beginning, the band at Acadiana has garnered much success. All groups routinely receive superior ratings and other honors. The band recently competed in Phoenix, Arizona as part of Fiesta Bowl activities. The Acadiana Band currently comprises of the following groups: Marching Band Wind Ensemble Symphonic Band Advanced Jazz Band Beginning Jazz Band High-Steppers (Dance) Indoor Percussion Acadiana Gold (Indoor Color Guard) Dr. Waguespack and Mr. Gray also teach Fine Arts Survey and Guitar classes, thereby filling out a well-rounded program truly dedicated to music education and the ongoing self-edification through the arts. |
